Everyone has a story… here’s a bit of mine:
For as long as I can remember, I've always had a passion for design. I was the kid spending hours perfecting my art projects, flipping through magazines and sketching floor plans. I never saw myself fitting into the corporate world and knew I was good at taking care of people, so I became a registered nurse and specialized in oncology. It was fulfilling work and came with a flexible schedule that allowed me to travel the world. I found little ways to weave in my creative side, drawing murals on the whiteboards and making cards for my patients to brighten their days. Eventually, my high school sweetheart became my husband and we settled into a cute little home. It seemed like I was ticking all the right boxes but I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to explore my creative side. My time as a nurse taught me life is too short to play it safe…so I followed my gut and dove into something new.
I began an entrepreneurial journey, which started with local flower deliveries. This quickly revealed a gap in the wedding market: couples wanted to style their own wedding flowers, but there wasn't an easy way to source trend-forward florals. I took this as an opportunity to design a series of DIY wedding flower boxes, and THE SERIES was born. I started shipping curated boxes to couples across North America, but I found myself morphing into an e-commerce business, spending most of my time packing boxes and slowly straying away from the creative life I set out to create. So, I pivoted...again.
I started exploring the world of floral artistry, after discovering muses who inspired me to think outside the box, and just like that, my passion was reignited. I experimented, adding hand-painted flowers and mixed media materials into my floral designs. This unconventional approach wasn't necessarily new, but it shocked my city. My work captured the attention of artists and brands, and I began creating sculptural floral installations, wearable pieces, and editorial sets. Right around this time, couples began gravitating towards unique wedding florals, and brands were investing in experiential marketing. So, with a stroke of luck, I found my people.
Now, my focus lies in designing unconventional weddings, elopements, and brand events. I love creating unique designs that authentically reflect each client's story so, I limit my availability, and tailor my design packages towards intimate destination venues like boutique hotels, B&Bs, private estates, galleries and restaurants. Because I carefully select my projects, I still offer virtual consulting and custom flower box services, because I love helping people, and want to make my designs accessible to everyone.
I’m always dreaming up new ideas, so if you're planning an event or interested in collaborating, I'd love to hear from you!
